It is possible to import references and bibliographies from BibTeX files into Microsoft Word documents by using the Docear4Word add-on, which is compatible with Microsoft Word versions 2003 and later. The wonderful part about it is that you do not have to worry about the formatting in any way. You have access to more than 1,700 different citation styles, including APA, MLA, Turabian, Harvard, IEEE, and ACM, among others. You only need to choose a reference from your BibTeX database for Docear4Word to get to work; the rest of the process is handled automatically. Docear4Word is compatible with any BibTeX database, not only the one that comes along with Docear itself. This essentially implies that Docear4Word is compatible with the vast majority of reference managers, such as JabRef, Bibdesk, Biblioscape, Bibus, and Citavi. Docear4Word is completely free to use, open source (GPL 2 or later), and based on the Citation Style Language (CSL), which is the same language that Zotero, Mendeley, and Papers are utilising. Note that Docear4Word may only be used with Microsoft Word on Windows; it is not compatible with Apple's Mac OS.
